Re: Niquist ACX check nightmare
Best way is to use a flash card reader and copy the recording directly from the flash card to your computer hard drive (or SSD). However, obsessive engineer would like to point out that in a very long presentation, you will be mounting and unmounting that chip many, many times and I'm not sure the ...

Re: Audio only comes out of right side of headphones
there is still sound coming through both speakers. It's going to both speakers, but one of them isn't working. That's not good news. There is an operational setting which can do that. Do you see the L----o----R slider to the left of the show? If that's off, the blue waves will seem normal, but the ...

Re: Disable automatic low pass filter when resampling
Reducing the sample rate isn't "free." 8000 is just better than AM radio.that defeats the whole purpose of being able to set a specific sample rate.
What's the goal? I mean the real goal, not the microscopic viewing the rate goal. Why are we doing this?

Nothing has saved. I know this is a rotten time to bring this up, but you can still go back to the original recording of your work or voice, right? You're not trying to edit the only copy of the work? I've lost two hours of work. Two hours of editing , not two hours of performance ? it is already r...

Re: Left ear sound line going downwards
I'm putting my money on "hardware problem" So am I. See that swooping downward line in the first few seconds of the recording? That's battery or DC supply leaking into the sound. The real question is why it's only happening on the Stereo Left channel. Since you're recording two channel &q...

Re: Niquist ACX check nightmare
And before you start writing checks, it would be super good to post a sample of the noise so we can hear it. Wouldn't it be sad if you spent the bux and it turns out to be something easily fixed?

If you find yourself going theatrically nuthouse, it may be time to wear good, sealed headphones while you record. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/lin-manuelMicrophone.jpg The first time you yell into the microphone and blow your ears half off, you learn not to do that. You do need a microphone s...

Re: Right sound gone?
First. Stop uninstalling Audacity. It doesn't reset anything. Record a small piece and try to export it as MP3. If it succeeds, you win. Now I no longer hear what I need to clean up as well as I used to. [Puzzled Puppy Look] You what? If you were getting both bouncing sound meters before and now you...

Are you reading for audiobooks? Did you try applying Audiobook Mastering anyway? It has some limited automatic volume controls as part of its activity. https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audiobook_Mastering If you got loud as part of the script, the mastering tools may just make your voice denser ra...
