Re: Best tutorial?
There are no editing instructions for the same reason there are no manual videos. By the time you get a presentable production, the next Audacity version is issued and you have to start over. It's a career move. Almost all of the YouTube videos available are, as of April 19th at 10:34 AM, likely wro...

Re: Direct audio capture seems to be broken? M1/Big Sur
My Old, Old, Old machines used SoundFlower as a sound device. My just old (but current to me) machine uses iShowU. Apple has not allowed capture of "system audio" since forever. What he said. Macs don't have built-in sound pathways for recording streaming audio. The desperation method is s...

Land-Line systems have nearly zero delay and timing problems when communicating with other land-line systems. However, when they...

Re: leveling L & R input
Ripping is where you achieve a sound or other performance file quickly typically taking far less time than the duration of the performance. There are software packages that allow "ripping" of CDs, DVDs, and Youtube content. Recording is creating a permanent record of a performance in real ...

Re: Won't read or write to external harddrive (D:)
Are you going through a USB hub or other multi-point USB management system? Those have caused live production problems for years.the photos on C:\ are backed up to a different external than the one I am currently trying to use for the podcast.

Re: leveling L & R input
correction feature as part of 'normalise' but wonder if that's really doing the job. Normalize is not a second-by-second processor. It works on an overall average and makes one correction. If your show is constantly changing you may need much more serious processing. Also a problem if the job isn't...

Audacity doesn't apply effects, filters, or corrections during recording.
