Re: Constant, very quiet clicking

That's more better. Perfect levels, no room echo, very low background noise (although I can still hear you beating on your desk), good presence and narration swing. That last could just be you're getting used to the script. Screen Shot 2019-06-30 at 20.06.40.png I'm going to call that good on backgr...

Re: Constant, very quiet clicking

If your computer went through Catastrophic Power Failure, you should Shut Down (not restart), wait and bit and then Start. When it settles down, Shift-Shutdown, wait and Start. That should clear out all the debris and orphan junk that collected when the power went away. Noise is much lower and bette...

Re: Error recovering after crash - .autosave not recognized

After a few minutes, my computer crashed. Did you close Audacity and then move the project? Was Audacity running all during these moves? Did the computer go down, or Audacity freeze/crash? Win10 is pretty robust. You have to do something pretty seriously evil to make it fall over. If Windows did go...

Re: Bad Background Hum with SM57 & X2U Adapter

It's tough getting everything right when you are just starting out. You are the recording engineer. Those jobs didn't go away. We get postings from people who started out in real studios and decided to try it at home. How hard could it be? Some decided to stick it out and some fled back to their co...

Re: Constant, very quiet clicking

Punch and Pepper.wav Analyzing a post-production sound clip isn't all that useful because we're never quite sure what you did to it and if there's a mistake anywhere, we could be chasing each other for days. Clean, raw samples only. Punch and Pepper.wav volume is too low. If you watch the bouncing ...

blankets smell a little like wood varnish right now.
Bring some quarters with you and send them through a laundromat dryer.

-60.7dB Noise Don't fall in love with that number. You should hit at least -65dB to be unconditionally safe. One poster had a comment from ACX which I thought was cute. "Yes, your submission passes noise, next time see if you can make it better." They have been known to reject noise not b...

Re: Constant, very quiet clicking

blankets smell a little like wood varnish right now. Leave them spread out in the sunshine for a while. I used two foot pipe sections to make a giant cube cave. Design is a juggling act. The original 20" pipes made it so you didn't have to pay attention which direction you laid the blankets. E...

Re: recording level too high or low, There's no gradation.

to me it sounds like you only have two volumes no matter what you set your slider to, which makes me think some other program is taking control of the audio as well. The machine is oscillating. The poster's description of the problem is slightly misleading. The sound doesn't stay at one volume or a...

Re: 2 second delay on first playback

I subsequently delinked the PC from One Drive.
Does it still do that if you delink the computer from the internet?
