Re: Volume Level
Is Microphone Boost set? Windows has that to make up for weak volume home microphones. That can be a serious volume bump if one of the chat programs turned it on and left it there. Find the setting in Windows. In any event, you should be able to turn the Yeti down and get rid of the extra volume. Koz

Re: Recording starts at the end of the rhythm track
I accidentally clicked something You may not have needed to click anything. Do you use Skype, Zoom or other chat or conference program? They change Windows sound settings when they work and you can't stop it. Never leave any of those programs running when you have Audacity open and don't leave them...

It's a pretty awful idea to go back and edit an existing forum post. It becomes impossible to follow you.

Re: Volume Level
What he said.
Audacity gets its sound from Windows, not the device or microphone. Skype, Zoom, and others like to change settings to suit themselves and you don't have anything to say about it.
Make sure they're closed and not active or napping. You might restart Windows and see if that helps.

Re: Rode Procaster dynamic mic loud hiss
I don't think it helps dynamic mikes. It doesn't. But it's a good idea to match Phantom Power (48volts) to the microphone. Most condenser microphones need it, most dynamic microphones won't know it's there, but you can destroy a ribbon microphone by plugging it into 48 volts by accident. https://ww...

Tune the microphone height with paper towels and bathroom tissue as needed.I like your idea about the paper towel and the coffee
Coffee is optional. It's included in many photos to give you a size reference.

Re: Voice recording - low waves
The personality of the sound will change a bit between the positionings. As posted, you don't need the pop and blast filter if the microphone isn't in the line of fire of your breath, but it won't sound the same, either. Fair warning if you're recording a long presentation over days (audiobook) Do N...

Re: Quiet Beeping Sound
My guess would be power supply. That's safe. Somehow, the disturbance is getting into either the condenser element or the little transistor impedance matcher, but is it coming up the 48 volt phantom power, the five volts in the USB cable? USB-C isn't limited to five volts. Are we listening to USB-C...

First step. The recording volume could use a boost. Screen Shot 2021-04-22 at 2.44.31 AM.png Recording controls are adjust for waveform or bouncing sound meter, not by number on the slider. It's normal for home microphones to run all the way up. You can change microphone placement. Use Oblique Place...
