Re: Dozens of "loose" files starting in e- in project folder

Did I say that?
Sorry. "Weird."

So this has come up before? This is right out of the playbook.

You are almost certainly sharing your machine, if not physically, then digitally.

Re: Dozens of "loose" files starting in e- in project folder

Audacity's .AU files should all be within the sub-directories of the project's "_data" folder. Let me read this back to you. There are music files on your machine that you don't recognize and you didn't put there. Your machine occasionally "acts funny." Can you sense the hairs o...

Re: Merging .au files without the project file

You can hear distinct cut-noises after each file, though. You mean after each 6-second snippet? That could be your process getting the Left and Right wrong way around. Audacity convert them to mp3, Never use MP3 anywhere in a production process. It creates sound damage and has badly defined stop an...

Re: "Db"

https://cgjennings.ca/checker.html Excellent. We want to make sure we're not running in a little bubble here—to see what other are doing. I bet you're wondering why everything isn't in percent—normal person numbers. Behold 10% is -20dB and timeline percent values are already getting a little hard t...

Re: Audacity as a product

now I want one Read the bad reviews before you pop for one. Most of them are actually correct. You can't hand-hold an H1n in normal use. The "affordable" (cheap) plastic body transmits every hand motion into the show. It does not normally come with a memory chip and the memory chip is req...

Re: Can't save as MP3

I've downloaded the current version of Audacity That would be Audacity 2.3.2 which you can get from here. https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ If you have any other version from anywhere else, you may have an older version without the automatic MP3 creation. Audacity (upper left) > About Auda...

Re: Audacity as a product

There is no association with Audacity. The poster was just describing a product that already exists, and Zoom isn't the only company making stuff like this. You are warned that the products available have a threshold below which you should not go. There are tiny Voice Recorders on the market which h...

Re: "Db"

The blue waves on the timeline are labeled in percent. 1 is 100% or as high as you can go. There is an idea to label the waves in dB instead of percent so they and the bouncing sound meter track better. You can convert between them, it's just hard. 50% on the waves is -6dB on the sound meter. 25% is...

Re: "Db"

most people have to download a common thing known as "the checker" From where? What's the job? Are you reading for audiobooks? We publish tools to make that job a lot easier as well as ACX Check which will tell you how far from audiobook standards you are. It's dB. The "B" is fo...
