Re: Updated De-Clicker and new De-esser for speech
De-Esser plug in as I hiss like a snake How about a goose? Nobody ever hisses like a goose, but that's scarrier. Snakes can't fly. Do you know you're experiencing "Essing?" Essing is a specific condition where a collection of high-pitch tones is dynamically and artificially boosted. That'...

Re: No Fast forward or Rewind
Quick note. Do Not use MP3 for any of these jobs. MP3 files do not have stable, reliable start and stop points. If you break up one long performance into "chapters," the chance of smooth, invisible hand-offs between MP3 chapters is almost zero. Stick with WAV (Microsoft) 16-bit at 44100 St...

What he said.Use the Mute/Solo buttons to toggle between the two tracks when playing.
I wondered why you were using two Audacity windows.

Re: Audacity Two files Playing issue
Since this issue came along I'm not really able to cross verify their files, because I've to move side by side from one audio to another in Audacity with multiple videos at once. I read that four times and I can't visualize what you're doing. The readers submit videos? Or you're talking about the s...

Re: Recover files after Windows shutdown
rather than a Windows crash/shutdown? Many of the data/file management services depend on the computer being alive. You can do manual Saves and the last known, good, Save should survive (unless the computer crash takes out the file system). We should note there is a misconception here. Every time y...

Re: Audacity Two files Playing issue
when I move back to the previous open files, Audacity doesn't able to play it. Did you open and play the first file? You have two Audacity windows open at once, right? Screen Shot 2021-04-24 at 4.05.35 AM.png Are the two sound files of the same digital standard? For example, both 44100, 16-bit, Ste...

Re: I speak too fast. I want to add 1 sec of silence between each audio section
between all the waveforms of my entire recording? What does that mean? Between each word? Each sentence? Removing long silences is "easy" because there is a signature. If you find silence, start a timer. If the timer reaches a set number, remove the silence. I don't think you have a signa...

Re: Recover files after Windows shutdown
I have now changed settings so it cannot do that again. I'm also set for manual update. You do have to pay attention and not let it go too long. The Windows/Evil-Doers race is a real thing, but I don't think the World Will End if I force the update to happen after I finish my hour-long interview. Y...

Re: Recover files after Windows shutdown
Is there anyway to recover the recording in this situation? I don't see how. The recording cache system would have vanished with Windows. Starting Audacity doesn't bring up the auto file recovery Right. Because there are no files. Someone else may post, but I think those recordings are history. Koz

Re: Can't Record Properly with Any Available Recording Option
Does the display have a microphone? It's a terrific bet you're listening to the microphone picking up the display speakers. There are ways to do a direct capture in software, but there are no "natural" ways. No single button push. Machines only have two natural sound pathways. Play music o...
