Re: How to "Fatten" a vocal track
You can open the track and duplicate it multiple times top to bottom. Then offset each track time very slightly with the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows). This is a rotten illustration, but picture the original track on top. The other two are delayed copies. Audacity will play everything ...

Re: How to remove steady 2K Tone from speech recording
This is Noise Reduction 12, 6, 6 using the quiet snippet at 5.5 seconds as the profile. If I go higher than that, the voices will fall apart.
There is no echo/reverb filter that I know of.

Re: How to remove room reverberation from a recording of a speech.
We can suppress the whine and some of the background noise, but I think you're stuck with the echo/reverb.
Somebody else may post. Echo/reverb is one of the reliable ways to kill a show.

Re: Hang/freeze when I stop a recording
See, that's not normal either. Audacity does not soak up the whole machine to the point of overheating. Something is very wrong and I don't think this is going to be easy or fast to fix.Audacity at 100% and making my fan cry.

Re: Hang/freeze when I stop a recording
If this continues past today I will have to switch to another recording program. Switch. I've been avoiding doing the final upgrade to Mojave because of odd unexplained interactions with Audacity. Worse yet, some respected app licenses seem to think it's perfectly normal to start running processes ...

Running any app on a full C:\ drive is insanely dangerous.
Stop.

Re: Warning-Missing Audio Data Block Files
My computer had been running slow and I restarted it at one point in the day. Do you have any idea why it was doing that? An Audacity recording produces a blizzard of files and if there is anything odd about your setup it may have problems. Are you using cloud-based, internet, or network storage? A...

I have seen in the past how if I move the data folder I won't be able to open the file in Audiacity You are not opening a file in Audacity. You are opening a Project. Re: burned CD from Audacity is loaded with noise
But I will also see about purchasing new blanks. Since you have a "magic" problem, it would be good to separate as much as possible the steps in the process and see what happens. If you burn new foreign blanks using a foreign burner and the problem instantly vanishes, then we have a pathw...
