Re: No Spikes are being shown when I speak.
My current microphone is not amazing in any way but it shouldn't be the reason this is happening should it? What is the microphone maker and model number? Some microphones need the computer to act in a certain way and when it doesn't, the microphone can seem to be failing. Some microphones have con...

Re: burned CD from Audacity is loaded with noise
Oh, also, both of your clips appear to be at 32000 sample rate instead of 44100 (audio CD quality). Does the recorder slip down to lower rate by itself as a default?

Re: burned CD from Audacity is loaded with noise
Thank you for the work to get those clips. [Stunned Silence] -- -- I've never heard anything like that before. I know it's a terrible idea to ignore clues no matter if they appear important or not. Please note the blue waves are damaged and it has nothing to do with the sound quality. See the bottom...

This is a project.

You need both parts to put your show back together. Double click on the .AUP file.

Re: Very slow response on large files
with my new hi-spec SSD laptop it is really qick If you need a serious speed boost, SSD is the way to go. One guy at work and I had very similar laptops except I had the SSD. I had to do a task on his machine and I thought it was broken. "No," he said, "It always works like that.&quo...

You can put archive work up there, but not real time production.

Re: Finding a missing .aup file
I save projects in a google drive. I'm pretty sure that's a shaky idea. It's the same reason you shouldn't use other internet or network connected drives. They don't look like stable drives to Audacity. You can store archive work up there to free space on your real drives, but probably not real tim...
