That's still not normal. Audacity doesn't arbitrarily force you to reinstall itself. You still have a ghost back there.

Does Microsoft still offer the on-line virus checker for Windows? I know they offered it as a fluffy band-aid at first and it got insanely popular in zero time, so they advanced it. That's when I gave up Windows.

I have been recording long files in the BWF format. Are you seeing how many oddball formats you can squeeze into one show? As far as I know Broadcast WAV has the same file size limits as regular wave and the only advantage is greatly enhanced meta-data. I've smacked into Core Audio, too. Music Memo...

It doesn't mix on one line. It just piles up all your tracks one above the other and plays all of them. You can tune each one as you wish—Mute and Solo as needed. Audacity will mix everything down to one (stereo??) track when you export.
