Did you have an old Audacity version and did it work OK?
This will need to wait for a Windows elf. Your screen management is going to be very different from my Macs.

Re: MP3 file plays fine on EVERYTHING except when imported..
OK, it seems the later versions of Audacity and FFMpeg have no trouble with Apple CAF files (Yay!)
This was a raw voice test I shot. It passes ACX Audiobook conformance although nobody in their right mind would OK it for publication.

Re: changing pitch is making my voice tinny (metallic)
How many piano notes are you trying to shift? It usually says that or something like it when you have the control panel open. I was in mp3s Was the original sound file an MP3? MP3 distortion is like a chronic sickness. It never goes away even though it seems like it should. MP3 has a quality value (...

Re: How do I split an audio track
I could do this in the old version, so I wish I hadn't updated it. You can reinstall the older version if you didn't keep the installer. https://www.audacityteam.org/download/legacy-windows/ but I'm just trying to split a piece of audio so I can move it without the rest of the mess. Do you mean dra...

outputs MP3. Probably not. That's one of the problems I had with a portable iDevice when I tried to make it record my voice. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/iPod-MicStand-500.jpg Check the sound file with the on-line format checker. https://mediaarea.net/MediaInfoOnline Then, when it (probably) ...

Re: New Mac, can't load old podcast episodes
That's not to say you shouldn't archive both the Project and the WAV file. You can. The WAV file is the desperation method when and if the Project will not open. Another New User mistake is take one performance all the way through recording, processing, editing, export and posting. Any serious mista...

Re: New Mac, can't load old podcast episodes
I know some of this is going to be old news, but scan through it anyway. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg That's an Audacity Project. They both have to be in the same location or folder, they have to have the same name and it has to be the name you gave them inside Auda...

Re: How to access a particular point on a CDR
if the facility exists then it has to be done on Audacity before recording to disc. Correct. You have to find the beginnings in Audacity and mark them for use in searching later. Audacity doesn't burn anything. You have to pile the files into your own authoring and burning software. The "autho...

Re: Amateur Radio Diversity Reception Post Processing
You should be able to get acceptable sound by setting the squelch on each radio, and then just jam the two sound lines together. We can help there. There are tools to auto set voice volume and I'll find them any minute now. That will get rid of the 6dB (half and double) during the squelch. No progra...
