Re: ACX audiobook: hiss / whine from my laptop's wheezy fan
Still waiting to hear back from them.. Chances are terrific you will wait forever. ACX is not in the business of adjusting your studio. hiss / whine from my laptop's wheezy fan Can you tell that your computer is on just by listening? Kiss of death. If you can tell if your refrigerator is on just by...

Re: AudioBook Mastering version 4
You're failing noise. That's very common for home readers. There is another way to look at this. When you announce, your noise has to be 1000 times quieter than your voice. That's the -60dB number in English. That's including noises the computer and microphone are making. Passing noise is hard to do...

Re: Confused RMS-normalizer
We should get the posting a little stiffer. There is no RMS Normalizer. Not from us at least. There is RMS Normalize posted here. https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=325078#p325078 Is that what you have? I only know of that one. If you have something other than that, then you have "M...

Re: How to *gradually* add reverb?
The brute force method is to copy the work onto a second track under the first one. Use the SOLO and MUTE controls on the left plus track selection and apply full reverb only to the bottom track. Use any the volume control tools such as Fade-In and Fade-Out or Envelope Tool and fade from one track t...

I sailed right over that. Apple's Multi-Band Compressor You mean this one. Screen Shot 2019-09-05 at 16.56.07.png Isn't there something buried in Apple documentation? I've never used one of their Apple branded filters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMDQSkyufJ8 Screen Shot 2019-09-05 at 17.02.26.pn...

Re: importing songs from Audacity to iTunes?
Most of the way there. Audacity doesn't save sound files. It saves Projects which don't open anywhere else. However you can File > Export many different file types and if you have Audacity 2.3.2, MP3 is one of those types. If they're stereo shows (two sets of blue waves) you should export at least 1...

Re: Guide For Plugins 2.3.2
most people have no clue as to how it works. Right. That usually works out to two engineers talking to each other and only occasionally using English. Regular compressors are a little magic and by the time you get to multi-band where most people have no good grip on high and low frequencies, it's b...

Re: Untangling two sessions on one track
There is one almost-zero possibility. If your Macs were set for Automatic Time Machine and Time Machine happened to kick in between shows one and two, then there might be a clean copy of show number one in the Time Machine Backup. Have you ever used Time Machine to rescue content? This might be a go...

Re: i want to remove vocals for this song.
I wanted to ask a different question Then you should have your own posting. Piggybacking into somebody else's question is a good way to lose your posting in the blizzard of messages. I had trouble executing that That's because nobody can do it. Audacity can't split apart voices, instruments, music ...
