Re: Audiobook mastering (In Development and Test)
If there is only an occasional peak, slightly over 0 dB I think you're being a little optimistic there. If you have a thin, expressive woman's voice recorded properly, you're likely to get a lot more than occasional tips over 0. But yes, I get the one-two punch. I can't wait to find out which progr...

Re: Audiobook mastering (In Development and Test)
If I recall correctly, that is there as a precaution against peaks that exceed 0 dB. Of course there shouldn't be any peaks greater than 0 dB in the original audio, but if there are, then the "soft limiter" alone would do nasty "wrap around" things to them. The brick-wall limite...

Re: Loud buzzing noise on playback
after normalising which did not make any difference. Normalizing will change the volume of everything. So, for example, if the buzz started out 1/10 the volume of the show, it will stay 1/10 the volume—even if they both got louder or softer. I'm analyzing the buzz before the first note. You have sy...

Re: can't import
AUP is a project manager file, it's not sound.
Double click the AUP file or Audacity > File > Open.
The AUP file is a team with the _DATA folder. They both have to be available for the show to open.

Re: Audacity 2.3.X will not record input on Catalina
I can make this worse. I can't find anywhere that says iSeeU is 64-bit and is expected to run under Catalina. I can find mention that it's not and it doesn't.

Re: "Pumping" on some speakers, not all Speakers
The only other thing I got is a design defect. There's a way to design speaker amplifiers—incorrectly—so they just don't respond to super quiet sounds. You can promote this design as super high efficiency (which it is) and ignore the sound distortion. Are these speakers actually powered by USB, they...

Re: Audacity Shuts Down
I deleted your email address. We are a Spam Magnet and your account would go rapidly underwater. That and nobody is going to write you back. So Audacity didn't crash or shut down. It keeps running, but the timeline goes blank or flat-line? If that's not it, I didn't understand completely. If you're ...

The system should have warned you that your posts are viewed by one of the elves before they appear in public. Do you remember getting that warning? We do that to prevent commercials and trash from appearing. No, I'm not eager to buy new kitchen cabinets in Manchester. Can you post some of the hum? ...

Re: Audacity 2.3.X will not record input on Catalina
neither Soundflower nor Source-Nexus extensions are supported as inputs for Audacity ? I can't comment on Source-Nexus, but I was a SoundFlower fan and had to give up because it was starting to get unstable and unpredictable. last 3 releases of Audacity and while on the Catalina beta. Was there a r...

Re: Loud buzzing noise on playback
I know it's tempting to dive right into the problem, but it's a good idea to set the scene before you do that. Can we assume you're trying to record your electronic organ? I connected the organ directly to the line in of the computer Probably not. Unless you have a large Windows desktop or a very ol...
