Re: Behringer UM2 + Pyle PDMIC78 = Too quiet and noisy
There are ways to tell almost immediately if your setup is going to work. Make it overload. The Scarlett interfaces have knobs that change color with volume. Green is OK and Red is too loud. The UM2 has two little lights. SIG and CLIP. Never blow into a microphone, but you can talk and yell as loud ...

Re: Help in removing noise
That's one of the stupid jokes about home recording. I don't need a studio. I just need a comfortable, air conditioned, quiet room with no echoes. I do OK with the bedroom, but I still have to wait for the occasional MetroBus to go by. If it's going the right direction and hits that hole in the stre...

Re: Please tell me what this sentence means?
If you play your cards right, they'll accept the sound file standards and won't ask any questions. Don't volunteer any information.
There's almost zero chance your microphone and system will pass high-pitch tones up to 24000 Hz. Some dogs would have trouble with that.

Re: Please tell me what this sentence means?
Aren't you happy you asked? In general, there are three common sampling rates: 44100 is the one for Audio CD and while it's not a gift from the angels. it does OK and everybody knows what it is. 48000 is the sample rate for video. They got a later start and didn't have to put up with the restriction...

Re: technique for excising constant rustling from handheld microphone audio
Did you find shooting techniques that didn't make you jump through hoops, over hurdles, and past obstacles to get a working show? It's worth noting Audacity can open the sound parts of many video formats directly with the addition of FFMpeg software. It can't, however, jam them back together. You ne...

Re: Using Audacity to amplify a track
What he said. The problem is the work is not MP3 while it's inside Audacity. It's in Audacity's super high quality internal format to avoid sound damage from effects, filters, and corrections. That's pretty harmless going in, but then most people want to make the show back into MP3. That means 320 c...

Re: Audacity is unusable
Which Audacity?
It seems you are trying to import an aup3 project. You don't import those, you just open them. Or close Audacity and double click on it and Audacity should open by itself.
There may be other problems, but post back what happens if you try that.

Re: buzzing during voice recording
I don't think it's one problem. I think the voice was very highly processed during the presentation. It's compressed (talking into a milk jug), It's peak limited (which may be the buzzing you hear), and has general overall distortion. If you already did noise reduction on that clip, then it was nois...
