Re: Taking long to open (sometimes unresponsive)
Unless macOS Mojave uses iCloud in a different way? I don't use iCloud, yet, so I couldn't say. Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Network. Screen Shot 2019-09-28 at 09.35.35.png That's this machine, right this second, on WiFi and no other connection. Other machines have hard-wired cable sel...

Re: Taking long to open (sometimes unresponsive)
I do use iCloud, but mostly for storing a few documents. So it's a "mounted filesystem" (in Linux-Speak) on your machine. It looks just like any other disk drive to Apps. Except it's not. It has network delays and negotiations missing from your local hard drive. Unless somebody corrects m...

This is me eagerly awaiting the answer. I don't think so, but we should wait for a senior elf.

Re: Reading ACX Check
Do you mean I let them know at the outset this is the only music in the piece? I think you should tell them there's music in the piece and let them tell you what the requirements are. I do know telling them the singer said it was OK is not going to work. You should resolve that before you sit throu...

Re: can I get a "full" heavy metal electric guitar sound by using Audacity?
Open your guitar test, or if it's already open, leave it there. Effect > Equalization > Save/Manage Curves > Import > Loudness.XML > Open > OK. (If you're on Windows, the file may or may not have the dot XML on the end.) They did that to make it less confusing. Back out in the equalization panel, Se...

Here's the Loudness adjustment for Equalization. Just pull it down. I need to remember how to install it. It's not fun. Are you sure you want it?

Echo: 0.1, 0.2. stand for the delay time and the decay factor? Yes. That's the short form. Those are the panel settings generally top to bottom. Effect > Equalization. I think that's one I made up. Hang on. I'll send it to you. I have to prepare it for export... I used "Loudness" to make ...

Re: Reading ACX Check
It wanders away from the metaphor of someone telling you a good story around the kitchen table over cups of hot tea. This is not Radio Theater.
I think you should be crystal clear you're going to do that before you dump a multi-hour recording on them.
