Re: Removing boom from recording
or excessive base Room boom? The best thing to do is get rid of the echoy room. If you do enough production, sooner or later you're going to either miss a pass and post a honky podcast or get a Notification, forget and apply it twice. The audiobook people run into this. Chapter after chapter and th...

You don't need the shift key to do this. You can change the default action of the "R" key.

Re: Removing boom from recording
Audacity doesn't apply effects or corrections during recording. However it is apparently effective only on playback After the recording, apply the effects or corrections so it sounds OK and the corrections will stick when you Export to sound files such as WAV or MP3. Audacity doesn't save sound file...

Re: Audacity stops recording after about six seconds.
I try to hit stop and then hit play to hear what it played but it won't do that either. So the program freezes. Audacity 2.3.2? Audacity can do that tif the bitstream pauses or in some other way has a "hole" in it. What happens if you change your recording device to something real like yo...

Re: Locking up
Memory Leak? Every time Audacity loops through a file it leaves a tiny part of itself in memory. Go > Utilities > Activity Monitor. CPU, MEMORY and DISK are semi-real time displays and you can watch the progress of your jobs and how many resources are being used. It's possible you're going to find s...

Re: can I get a "full" heavy metal electric guitar sound by using Audacity?
But I don't see "Import" any place. You should probably forget the Loudness effect. If you're trying for more hard-driving fuzz, this isn't going to help at all. One of those samples up the thread was after Hard Clipping. That should have come closer. That's more like what an amp does whe...

Re: File corruption after exporting to wave files?
I made a backup copy of an Audacity .aup file How did you do that? One of the earlier versions (before 2.3.2) had problems with Save As:. You can't (easily) change the name of a project (or any of its parts) outside of Audacity. Fortunately there is still the intact wave file Which is why we strong...
