Re: Recording what my headphones hear / fully digital capturing
Studios get around some quality problems by using 96000 sample rate and 24-bit data depth. Sometimes called 96/24. Not the home standard of 44100 and 16-bit. 44.1/16 So we can start there. Monitoring is going to be the worst problem because Line Level or volume is handled by 30 volt supply rails (+/...

What are the pipes? Part numbers, web page or makers info.My goal is to record the pipes directly, digitally (without any analog hiss). In other words, trying to record the instrument in a bit-perfect digital capture.

Once we get out of the hardware realm (noise, RMS, etc) it's all opinion, and the opinion that matters is theirs.

Re: Playback sounds good when mic is plugged in, bad when unplugged
Let's try to separate the recording & playback problems... I don't think you can. I think that is the problem. Many people find it of value to record What's Playing on the Computer. That can mean running multiple bi-directional sound pathways at the same time. When you disconnect the Snowball, ...

Re: Recovering session data without the autosave file
I think the Party Line is no hope without the AUP Project Manager file or a live joined app. Yes, they are little 6-second snippets that the AUP file knows how to stitch together into a show, and yes they do alternate Left and Right. What they don't do is have predictable file names. They are intent...

Re: Normalization
It's good to know what Normalization (and Amplify) are thinking about. They are both peak-only tools. In your case, Normalize would increase the volume of the show until something in the show reaches the goal. If the show didn't move, then something in the performance is already at -1dB. Doesn't hav...

Re: Podcasting with Peavey PV10
I get great audio from myself and I can hear him on by bluetooth headset connected to my laptop. Right. That's what happens when the chat app takes over your machine. Skype pioneered that technology. The problem is recording. There are no sound pathways left. Does Source-Connect offer a way to reco...

Re: Doubts on WASAPI exclusive mode
So from the original posting, there's no way to get bit-perfect transfers. If the converter bitrate and the computer bitrate are slightly different, the difference will show up as a performance speed change.set up an A/D converter with usb output into my Windows 10 PC.
