Re: Audio Sample: Noise Issues. (2.3.2)

Nobody passes noise. Homes and apartments are insanely noisy and most people just don't notice it—until they have to. While that's coming down, can you record a 20 second "clean" sound test? http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html Go down the blue links. They're not ...

Mark the supplier of sounds as possibly supplying damaged work.

Re: A specific SFX does not playback on phones, but does on computers

Stereo? Two blue waves? You can get "magic" shows if the Left and Right portions are out of step with each other. When one wave goes up, the companion wave goes down. This can cause the show to cancel under the right circumstances. Open the show in Audacity. Use the left-hand drop-down men...

Re: MP3 is 44.8 not 44.1 like AUP project

Could you have meant 48 rather than 44.8? 48 is a perfectly normal video sound standard. 44.8 could be a typo.

Re: not having much luck pulling music from DVDs

Ripping just takes the work on the physical disk and removes all the tricks, errors, oddities, mis-directions and slights of hand and saves a "normal" DVD on your hard drive or wherever you want it. You can, if you wish, stop right here. Mac DVD Player will "Open DVD Media..." Do...

Handbrake as a DVD ripper.
That's it. That's another one I've used.

Re: not having much luck pulling music from DVDs

See if VLC media player can play the DVD. Yes it does—after it's been ripped. But note that one of the protection schemes has the VOB files scrambled and you have to go in several layers deep to get the actual show. Watch the file sizes. The real VOBs are several MB. Also, a commercial disk will no...

Re: not having much luck pulling music from DVDs

There are ways to damage the tracks so that most DVD players can figure it out and most rippers can't. This problem can get insane. There was an animated movie available in the Los Angeles Library system and I couldn't play it. Two different players, two disks from different branches , no joy. I fo...

Re: not having much luck pulling music from DVDs

I feel like I'm getting close to resolving this You either need a DVD ripper program or be able to set your DVD playing and record the sound parts as a streaming show in real time. Those are pretty much the only two options. OK, so technically there is one more. Set up a camera watching the screen ...

Re: Export to MP4/movie Formats for Upload to YouTube, etc

export MP4 files directly I can see somebody calling a format violation. An audio-only MP4 file is an M4A—somebody will correct me. There might be provision to display a default gray screen or something like that if a video player hits an MP4 with no actual video. That is an error condition and mig...
