Re: Remove peaks for specific frequencies
The higher frequency peaks are a bit more tricky because they are fairly wide (broad frequency range) and there's a whole bunch of frequencies. I note the "Size" setting in the spectrum posted is only 1024. That's "sloppy" and will mis-read the width of the display spikes. I'm t...

Re: workflow question- can I master and THEN edit
I have it set up in a macro Would you like to post that Macro? There's an equalization problem where you can't just call out an equalization curve and have it magically appear. In fuzzy memory, Effect > Equalization is actually broken and appears on a developer repair list. At least one of the tool...

Re: Remove peaks for specific frequencies
Is this a theatrical presentation? makes the audio sound hollow Especially the 4000Hz one. That one is really close to the 3000 center-of-hearing tone. Messing with tones in that range is not easy. The Q of the notch is the sharpness of the cut. Low values of Q produce broad notches and take some of...

Re: Playback volume almost impossible to hear
There's a way to connect the microphone that gives this error. Post a short sound test and we can tell you for sure and how to prevent it.

Re: My audacity will not record in mono the track is still doubled?
Are you overdubbing? In Audacity, make sure you're recording from a real thing such as an analog device, mixer or USB microphone. I don't think you can overdub using cloud or internet music as backing track. Everything has to be local on the machine. Depending on your microphone, you may not be able...

Re: Session files without aup
Is there any way to open the session files without the original aup file? Taking that question a slightly different way. Yes, you can totally open up the little AU sound files inside the _DATA folder. They're six seconds long, mono and they open in Audacity just fine. What they don't do is fit back...

Re: workflow question- can I master and THEN edit
the basic ACX RMS normalize, EQ with a low rolloff for speech and the Limiter on a soft limit I trust you're not doing them in that order. The equalizer first gets rid of thump and rumble so it doesn't screw up the other two tools. Then, RMS Normalize gets your presentation loud enough for the Limi...

Re: Session files without aup
I accidentally clicked save for a session without naming the aup file. If you have one, then you know what the other was called. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg Audacity will not save one without the other and it always picks the same name for both. The only good way ...

There is a common microphone error, yes.
Post a 10 second WAV of the damaged track on the forum. Or just record 10 seconds and Export WAV.
