Re: [Help] how to create "electricity aura / current" sound effect ?
I know what I want to do to get this effect, but I can't find the exact tools and filters to pull it off. I posted for help. I want to generate a 60Hz tone (power line in the US). Intentionally distort it and overlay it with air escaping from a tire hiss. Now pulse it on about a one second cycle. Ev...

Re: Passing RMS on Audacity 2.1.1
I don't see the Trebor piece your referenced. https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=382423#p382423 It's about 2/3 down chapter two of this message thread. He applied some voice quality corrections and noise reduction. According to specifications, you don't need noise reduction, but that's ...

Re: Latest, most up-to-date instructions needed.
True, but the quality is not the same. Maybe it is. That's not a cheap MP3 note-taker voice recorder. " Remember to bring home milk and eggs ." It's a 24/96 production sound recorder that burns perfect-quality, uncompressed WAV files. It doesn't depend on computer operating system support...

It's becoming handier and handier to fire up your stand-alone sound recorder and press Record instead of trying to force your computer to do it.

It's not going to stop working because of an update.

Re: Blue snowball question
has anyone use blue snowball for dictating your voice? I have. We had one at work. It's a plain condenser USB microphone with three options on the rear. People usually want Position 1 Cardioid. That means it's directional. You speak into the company name. Did you get the little stand with it? If it...

Re: Latest, most up-to-date instructions needed.
It’s a little late for those of us who have upgraded already. I think I posted once before that Audacity isn't the only nasty surprise that bubbled up at the Catalina update. It is possible under extreme circumstances to roll your Mac back to Mojave. I understand the rollback is slightly less painf...

In other words, all of them likely to be useful. "Frances" is an 11 year old Mac and has 64-bit compatible architecture. I should try the install later.Audacity 2.3.3 is a 64-bit app. It requires a 64-bit version of macOS.

Re: Latest, most up-to-date instructions needed.
Maybe not quite enough words. MacOS has been 64 bit for a long time. 32-bit.jpg That's 10.9.5. Catalina's trick is it's only 64-bit. Under those conditions, as an example, my off-air "TV Set" will stop working. That's one tiny example why I'm not breaking down the door to upgrade. Koz

Audacity > Preferences > Keyboard. Make sure Space key is mapped to Play/Stop.
