Re: Question about ACX EQ with 2.3.3
Effect > Equalization > Low Rolloff for speech turned into Effect > Filter Curve > Manage Curves > Factory Presets > Low rolloff for speech. After you use it the first time, it should turn into: Effect > Filter Curve > OK . Please glance at the picture of the curve as it goes by to make sure the sy...

Re: Question about ACX EQ with 2.3.3
Low roll off for speech. Low Rolloff used to have a quality setting (Length) which, because of the current improved tool, is no longer needed. So it's just select Low Rolloff once and it should be good to go. Papers can be written about all the things Low Rolloff is doing, so you shouldn't mess wit...

"echo cancellation" in Windows audio enhancement Get rid of Windows Echo Cancellation. That should be buried somewhere in Windows Enhancements. Windows comes out of the wrapper set for business communications and conferencing no matter what it does to the voice (like a cellphone). It caus...

Re: What cables
That works for me. If you have a million really short-form events, you can [X] the timeline out and start a new one. Make a time limit such as don't go over a half-hour or so without restarting Audacity.I close Audacity between events.

Re: What cables
You are never going to produce sound files as loud as bought-and-paid-for music or performances. Most of them are specially processed and managed to be as loud as possible—or at least as loud as the competition. It's not just turning up the volume. You could do that. The performances are also Dense,...

Re: What cables
When you're recording, using Audacity, to save voice mail to your MBP, what settings do you use on Audacity? Note you can set up the recording as tests and then rewind everything and record it for real. You don't have to hit it first time out. Also, once inside Audacity, the work is subject to edit...

Re: Normalize
I think I like it! We should remember your complaint is not that you can't produce good work. It's that you couldn't do it reliably or repeatedly. ACX puts great stress on having your chapters match, beginning-to-end and to each other. Their overarching goal is No Distractions. Whatever you do, you...

Re: Yamaha MIDI files
It's not a good idea to post a hot email address on the forum. We're a SPAM magnet and you can be too. MIDI isn't actually music. It's machine control. The first time your system actually makes music is probably the speaker or headphone connection of the keyboard. I use my headphone connection to dr...
