Re: recording from iPhone to audacity
MacBook Pro What size MBP? The early machines had different connections. The 15" and 17" had individual record and headphone connections... http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn-650.jpg but the 13" had one socket and you have to configure it in Apple (upper left) > System ...

Re: iPhone recordings with deadly interference -- is there a fix??
just now, weeks later, I have gotten to sit down to edit. Check your work before you pack up. I know people constantly running in 200% overdrive and I appreciate the workload, but in this case, without a lot of extra theater, I think you have no show. I carry a small stand-alone recorder in my run ...

Re: iPhone recordings with deadly interference -- is there a fix??
I had this belief that iPhones don't pick up that annoying buzzzzzz-tick-tick-tick-buzzzzz crap that other phones can do They don't. That's the microphone overloading from the phone radio negotiating with the cell tower. I'm still fuzzy about the microphone you're using. These things are supposed t...

Re: Passing RMS on Audacity 2.1.1
But wait! There's more! Now that your voice is loud enough, you have USB microphone whine sound in the background. Yours isn't this bad, but this is the idea. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/USBMicrophoneWhineClip.mp3 There is no studio fix. Once you have this sound the only cure is to change t...

Re: Passing RMS on Audacity 2.1.1
Volume is perfect, but you sound like you're announcing in a small room. Without going back over five forum chapters, what is your studio? The idea behind recording in a closet is to leave the heavy coats and jackets in there with you. If you take everything out, it's going to sound like you're reco...

Re: Pomplamoose Sound
Bingo. How did you turn up Caleb? One sound oddity I noticed was the drums don't come out and smack you in the mouth. In spite of Ben's best efforts, the drum track is always restrained, balanced and supporting the vocals. The drummer for a lot of this is Ben Rose. Instagram @bensnroses. Cute. Caleb...

Re: Filter Curve Complaint
When you install a factory or personally managed and named curve, it should say so in a visible label somewhere. If you move a control point, the label changes to "Unnamed" and locks out until you either reload the effect or possibly name the work you just created. It stays "Unnamed&q...

Re: Filter Curve Complaint
Vanish. It is no longer the pre-built correction. Full Stop.Should the name change - disappear completely
Correct me, but curve management is already fried for other reasons. If you want to save your new curve, that's the place to name it.

Re: Filter Curve Complaint
Isn't it just that we're familiar with the old Equalization GUI and we don't like change? I did select it...weeks ago. I'll give you it looks like Low Rolloff, only because of historical and institutional knowledge. We're coming off an interval when Equalization would scramble or misplace correctio...
