Re: Latency/Audio issues with Behringer UCA202
Everything works except that it's in mono. "It" being the monitor. The show is in stereo if that's how you captured it. You can get individual tracks for all your instruments and voices, so you an mix your brains out later. But you don't have to. If you listen to the whole pile of tracks ...

Re: Latency/Audio issues with Behringer UCA202
I think the headphone connection is mono-mix. If they didn't do that, then monitoring a mixture of stereo, mono and mono variations would be a nightmare.

Re: Latency/Audio issues with Behringer UCA202
If you flip the little Monitor switch on, you can listen to both directions of the sound in real time. That's the setting recommended for overdubbing. It will give you a theatrically correct mix with the right rhythm and timing. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo-650.jpg No I ...

Re: Select and Delete Everything Else
Edit > Remove Special > Trim is close, but that's not Delete. It leaves behind the show timing. I want Everything Else to vanish without a trace.
The Zero Time show is going to start at my selection, not the original show start.

Select and Delete Everything Else
I can't think of a good tool or combination to do this. Drag-select a portion of the timeline > Delete everything else. There is no Select > Invert-Select > Delete that I can find and there is no shortcut. I understand I can Export Selected , but that's overkill and smacks of desperation method. Koz

Re: Passing RMS on Audacity 2.1.1
Please note with your revised Rag Studio, new microphone, and application of mastering we're not worried about making RMS or suppressing audible noises any more.

Re: Passing RMS on Audacity 2.1.1
Either 100Hz rumble, or LF rolloff will suffice: you don't have to do both. Exactly. Low Rolloff is part of a carefully selected suite of tools. A harmonious grouping. I know it seems too simple, but it's impressive all the things those three tools are doing for you. There are postings from people ...

Re: Passing RMS on Audacity 2.1.1
We're not curing killer problems, here. There are just one or two places where the SS sound is slightly more pronounced than it probably should be. Just before 3 seconds PoSSessive. And just after 5-1/2 seconds. Cacti'SS Needles If you didn't notice it, chances are good nobody else will, either. Who...

Re: Automatically insert silence between takes
Just now re-reading that. That's just so you can recognize the demarcation points for later editing, right? Many readers clap or make a distinctive noise to mark the edit points.I am doing an audio book and I need to leave a second between each take.

Re: Automatically insert silence between takes
when the waveform is flat? But to get the flat waveform you have to mess up your pace, and it's pretty unusual for waveforms to be perfectly flat. Noise creates some interesting problems, even if it's only taking a breath near the microphone. I don't know of a way to automatically produce your trac...
