Re: Help! Is my file corrupted?
This one isn't just corrupted. It's blank. You can check this yourself by opening it in any text editor such as NotePad or TextEdit. It's supposed to have semi-English instructional words in it similar to this. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/aupFileGraphic-redbox.jpg A healthy one will have your...

Re: Everything Has Disappeared - Help
You're producing an 8 to 12 minute podcast, right? That's the sweet spot for high audience appeal. Even when I listen to half-hour and hour long broadcast shows as podcasts, they're cut down into much smaller segments. All the content is there, but the segment lengths are appropriate to one jog, run...

Re: Everything Has Disappeared - Help
I was copy/pasting it into the main track I'm pretty sure that's not the best way to assemble a show, although it seems like it should work. I would open each song and segment in its own track and then use the Time Shift Tool (Sideways Black Arrows) to push each track sooner and later so the end of...

Re: Latency/Audio issues with Behringer UCA202
Amazon even offers a splitter cable as an accessory to this mixer. They knew.
This one has an 1/8" stereo for the keyboard. It's trivial to adapt that to stereo 1/4"

Re: Latency/Audio issues with Behringer UCA202
From the keyboard's headphone jack to mic/line on the mixer using a 1/4" cable. One 1/4" cable? I don't think that's quite right. I expect you to plug a stereo 1/4" to the headphone connection on the keyboard (much as I'm doing). It should look like one of these connectors. http://ww...

Re: Passing RMS on Audacity 2.1.1
Have you thought about how you're going to do the bookkeeping yet? Most of editing is bookkeeping. It's nice to think of editing as applying filters and corrections, cutting things up, and making everything sound super, but the first time you lose a sound file, none of that is going to make the slig...

Re: Passing RMS on Audacity 2.1.1
Yes, that is a cheat. The 1/10 second is not Room Tone but Audacity generated Silence. I don't think they will care. It's not there long enough to hear the difference. * I can see storm clouds. You can't submit in MP3. MP3 is not a precise editing format and will screw up the 1/10 second of silence....

Re: Passing RMS on Audacity 2.1.1
No. Wait. I got a better one: "Ragamuffin Studio." I processed the phrase " Select the possessive noun below " from your posted sound file. Drag-select just the word blue waves. You can use the magnifier tools to zoom into the words so you don't have to hit it inside a sea of oth...

Re: Latency/Audio issues with Behringer UCA202
Windows sees everything as microphones. It's their metaphor. We have just oozed ourselves into waiting for a Windows elf. I have no idea.Windows shows the USB as a microphone.

Re: Latency/Audio issues with Behringer UCA202
But that's not the way I do it. I have a small but good quality stereo preamp ahead of my super sound system. The UCA-202 shows up as " TUNER " and the computer headphone system appears as " AUX ." Switch as needed. That also gives me a handy single volume control for the room so...
