Re: How to perform the same tasks on multiple files?
Have some backed-up content on a timeline. Go through your process manually and Audacity will "remember" the settings and adjustments for later. Tools > Macros... > New > Name it > Insert effects as needed > Save > Close. Tools > Apply Macro > Choose from the list and it just goes. I don't...

Re: How to perform the same tasks on multiple files?
I'm remembering pieces. The Macro service in Audacity 3.0.2 is greatly improved over earlier versions and is recommended. I know nothing about the Linux services.

<<< 3 - Apply the "Clip Fix" effect >>> My impression of Clip Fix was that it wasn't a global tool like Amplify. It only worked on single clipping points and it used the information from the waves immediately before and after to devise a "patch" for that one point. If you have he...

Re: How to increase noise floor
the reason ACX doesn't encourage the use of a noise gate is because when they accept your recordings, they use a noise gate to drop the sounds between words other than a light natural breathing. They also flatten all the levels of different files so they are the same within a few dB. And you know a...

Re: MultiTrack Reording
I would like to record 4 tracks from the Focusrite simultaneously. You were going great until right about there. Does Focusrite have drivers or other software? Many multi-channel device makers provide a stereo default sound service so the customer doesn't send the unit back. Actual multi-channel is...

Re: understanding waveform db and correlating to dBSPL... another thread
One other note about your voice recorder. It's not unusual for voice recorders to try and adjust loudness to follow your voice. Their job is capture every word no matter how loud it is. This can mess up scientific measurements because as your voice gets louder, the recorder turns the volume down. So...

Re: understanding waveform db and correlating to dBSPL... another thread
At first pass, no Sound Pressure Level Meter I ever saw worked in stereo (two blue waves). Drop-Down Menu on the left > Split Stereo To Mono. [X]Delete one of the two waves. Then we note that the dB level labels on the left aren't the most useful the way they are, so I pull Audacity and the window a...

Re: MP3 Render Missing Tracks But It Gets Weirder...
Can you trace where you got track 4 from? I'm putting serious bets that the Left and Right of Track 4 are out of phase. Can you get track 4 on a timeline by itself? Tracks > Mix > Mix Stereo down to Mono. I bet it vanishes. Normal songs don't. Does it? If it does, you can fix this song. Edit > UNDO ...
