Re: ACX Dang that noise floor
They do also say some files are not quiet enough at the beginning and end. Can you post the exact response? You may be the second reader that moved houses in the middle of a book and ran into troubles. Unless you moved from a soundproof studio to another soundproof studio, the recordings are always...

That's not ordinary clipping, by the way. It may be volume-related, but you are not just running out of volume range.

Re: Clipping issue. DJ mixer>Behringer UCA222>Macbook Pro
The UCA 202 (and its cousins) do a mono mix at the headphone connection. If there's something wrong with that service (headphone connection or the switch) it can cause channel cross conditions. It's rough to believe the cross only goes one direction..... You have a unicorn problem. There are several...

Re: How do I lower my noise floor?
ACX Check needs at least 3/4 second of clean, pure background noise to do its job. If you don't have that, it will try to measure anything it can find, like breathing or shuffling in your chair. Make a voice test like this and test it. If it fails, post the test on the forum. http://www.kozco.com/t...

I know it doesn't seem so, but we're doing statistical analysis (across multiple time zones), so don't leave anything out.Which way round are the leads?

Re: Clipping issue. DJ mixer>Behringer UCA222>Macbook Pro
That is one possible but unfortunate result from reversing the leads, you get a third condition. Condition 1 - The noise appears on the right channel. Condition 2 - The noise appears on the left channel when you reverse the leads. Condition 3 - The noise vanishes (or appears to) when you reverse the...

Re: conversion from mP3/WAV to MIDI
I found a scholarly description of the service. It's not converting a tune into MIDI. It's allowing you to ship digital sound back and forth on the MIDI cable in addition to the MIDI commands. This means you can quickly and easily edit your MIDI song on a large computer with good monitor instead of ...

Re: conversion from mP3/WAV to MIDI
That explains why people show up on the forum wanting to convert music to MIDI. I followed the instructions and I couldn't do it, either. This may be a developer question. Is this export menu item a mistake? Is this an FFMpeg mismatch? Instructions like this never tell you which Audacity version the...

Re: Background Noise Help!
cheap basic mic with XLR cord setup Whose name is? You can get into serious trouble if you're using the computer's soundcard with a simple cable adapter. Those are not the first choice particularly if the card settings conflict with a Windows Update. I didn't change anything. You don't have to. Did...
