There's only one tool I know of which will allow you to change the action of the correction in the middle of the correction.

I don't think the SSD had anything to do with it, but Windows 10 is a lot more picky about the software it runs and what it connects to. I think you ran into Microsoft security services.

The old Effect > Equalizer has been split into two different Effects: Filter Curve and Graphic Eq . If you liked using the old drawing curves system, then Filter Curve is for you. Are you trying to run Audacity partially or fully from a Network Connected drive or a Cloud Drive? Does the system work differently if you disconnect the internet? Maybe not faster, but different?
