I'm recording on a USB mic Which microphone? If you record using the oblique technique, you can't be that far off. Half-way between your nose and ear is about the farthest around your head from straight-on you can be before it starts sounding—wait for it—muffled. https://forum.audacityteam.org/view...

I mean I sound muffled OK. Got it. Talking through a blanket. like trying to describe a car issue to a mechanic... "When I speed up it goes 'ting, ting, ting'." The worst thing that happens is if you accidentally use the words for a well-defined problem. That's what all those blankets and...

Re: Recording Two Mics to PC
I own a business with a lot of customers / members and we'll be putting out technical advice etc for them in a podcast style format with a bit of information of the company's story. I would so totally start with the single microphone on the camera and get your feet wet with that first. After you sh...

Re: Audacity 2.3.3 on Win 10 is crashing when opening AUP files
What's confusing us is the crash. There are a lot of errors having to do with "I can't do this," or "I can't open that." There are few errors that can cause Audacity to die. I would reinstall Audacity. Delete the existing app and take out the preferences folders. Download and ins...

Re: Recording Two Mics to PC
XLR Microphones Which XLR microphones? It doesn't seem to be working like that. No. Laptops in general are designed for headsets—left and right headphones and one single microphone. Or not depending on your laptop. A lot of this advice depends on the microphone answer. Canon EOS 700D DSLR Camera Do...

Re: Audacity 2.3.3 on Win 10 is crashing when opening AUP files
Audacity threw a message that the original disk was full ... and the action could not be completed That can happen if you violate good filename hygiene. Upper Case, lower case, numbers, -dash- and _underscore_. No other characters in a filename. Use ISO standard dates. Today is 2020-01-12. Not 1/12...
