Re: now that equalization is gone.....

Audiobook Mastering has a little-known design goal. For the most part, if you don't need the corrections, they don't do anything. If you master an already mastered work, nothing happens.

I'd be tempted to master everything to both companies.

Re: now that equalization is gone.....

I was confused by how to choose the "about 5000" part with the graph but it seems just choosing the Low rolloff for speech by itself does the trick because now I got the piece to pass. They are different tools. The newer Filter Curve does the same jobs and gets better performance with few...

Re: Export Selected Audio

Or do you mean you didn't call it anything? What did the old service call it if you didn't tell it a filename?

Re: Export Selected Audio

What did you call the file?

Upper Case, lower case, numbers, -dash- and _underscore_. No other characters in a filename.
Use ISO standard dates. Today is 2020-01-15. Not 1/15/20. No slashmarks in a filename.

Re: Mastering with different voices / different pitch

That's not cast in stone. They've allowed stingers and intro/outro music for a long time but rarely theater support. Still, if this is your first swipe at reading, it may not be the best time to push the envelope. "We got rejected because ACX didn't like the copyrighted music we used at 15:30....

Re: Mastering with different voices / different pitch

You may have a different problem than you think. Last check, ACX doesn't want Radio Theater. "NBC and Ralston Purina proudly present 'Pepper Young's Family'." (Google it) No Hammond organ music and no cast of thousands. That's not to say you can't post that as a podcast. I often wondered w...

Re: Noise floor pass/fail/pass/pass

Please note that good quiet room tone isn't just handy, it's required by ACX for a successful audiobook submission. Screen Shot 2020-01-15 at 3.19.25.png There are posters who got rejected because they didn't stop talking long enough for that requirement. It's valid to record room tone as a performa...

Re: Remove music from a recording

You don't. Music in the background is one of the four horsemen (#4).
