Re: Need help hearing a voice on a recording
Voice Memo and Music Memo don't record both sides. They only record you and the echo cancellation errors and distortion. So even if we could rescue the far-side voice, it wouldn't be worth much. There is a soft processing rule. If you can't hear understandable voice now, nothing we can do will help....

Re: Help Needed - Audio Quality
I'd still like to improve if I can. So you took care of the P-Popping right away? That's a new-user, straight-out-of-the box problem. Which technique did you use/are you going to use? Those two test clips are both workable and the effect is up to you, but the second clip has P-Popping, possibly mad...

Re: Anti virus preventing audacity startup
Didn't Microsoft stop supporting Win7 a short time ago?I was running portable without the dll file for over a month
So you have a Windows problem on an unsupported machine using software Audacity didn't make.
Does PortableApps.com have a help forum?

Re: Help Needed - Audio Quality
In general everything sounds OK, but I hear P-Popping in there. You're a little too close to the microphone or it's placed wrong. Are you using the tiny, three-leg snowball stand on your desk? Any way you can get the mic higher? Most P-Popping sounds go down-ish from your lips and raising the mic ca...

Re: recording with backing track and microphone, using Rode AI-1
Unplug the headphones and turn down the monitor headphone volume. Do you have the USB light (far right). Turn the microphone volume all the way up. Speak to or scratch the microphone. Do you get the tiny green "squiggly line" light flashing? Does your microphone require Phantom Power (+48)...

Re: My Computer Battery Died and I am Trying to recover the Audio File I was working on
Is there any way to recover this file? You should go with "no." Audacity was designed with the idea that the computer was going to stay working through an entire show. If it doesn't, the machine is likely to leave trash behind instead of a performance. Now that it's up again, you should S...

Re: Meeting ACX Check makes my audio sound overdriven
Are you using a desk stand that may have come with the microphone? Desk stands are convenient and inexpensive, but almost always bad for sound. If you think the desk or table is causing problems, you can try the towel/book method. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MicBookTowel-500t.jpg Please ...

Re: Meeting ACX Check makes my audio sound overdriven
That's after mastering, right? the freakshow that is my natural voice The Audiobook Mastering Suite is only going to get you past the ACX basic mechanical specifications. Are you loud enough, etc. We can't test for theater. Are you pleasant to listen to? Do you make my ears hurt? That test happens a...

Re: lower size of project
Is it possible to lower the size of the project? Audio (and video) production take up a lot of room. If you're starting to see the system running out of resources/space/room, then this may not be the computer for your show. Depending on the effect or action, Audacity saves a copy of the whole show ...

Re: Removing crackling noise on one channel
If you select View > Show Clipping, do the timelines get red bars sprinkled through the performance? Is it worse around the crunchy segments?
