Re: Cannot select menus.. At all.

Are you connected to the internet by high-speed? When was the last time you updated your virus protection? Do you have virus protection? Do you have viruses?

Sudden, unexplained insanity on a PC should immediately trigger you to consider somebody using your machine in addition to you.

Re: Only 7 seconds of recording time -- newbie

<<<have you made sure you aren't highlighting anything before you begin recording?>>> I didn't know that one. That's good to know. We do have one install where the user doesn't have permissions to permanently change the preferences. Each week I sit down and have to reassign the capture hard drive. H...

Re: Can't get audio output through Digi 001

I see they're making it as hard as humanly possible to find out what a "DigiDesign 001" was if you didn't already know. Anyway. Can you make anything else play out the 001 other than ProTools? I'm after a sentence like: "The DVD Player and QuickTime Player work just fine but I can't g...

Re: recording problem

I've never been able to get that to work without adding a program like WireTap Pro. The native sound managers inside the Mac will not capture and play at the same time (that I know of).

Re: Sound Soap w/Audacity

We're getting there. I'm newly registered on the Sound Soap forum. My license has been out in the garage for a while, so it seems I dropped off the registration radar. This can be fixed. Anyway, while I was in there, I ran across someone hoping to clean up vinyl with his Sound Soap. Koz ============...

Re: problems with recording

The regular Windows people always recommend making sure your device drivers and software patches are up to date. In addition, I'd be doing mechanical troubleshooting. Switch the turntable off and disconnect it. Change the Audacity input so it's trying to record from a regular input like Line In or M...

Re: How do I adjust the input recording level?

<<<input level by the mic sign, gain, output level, sound volume>>> First, it's a bad assumption that the analog level controls will affect digital audio. They don't. If you had an analog turntable instead of USB, those controls would magically start working. I think I can hear Latham telling you to...

Re: What is the "attributes" of "exported Wav file

<<<I normally record in Audacity, then export as a WAV file to WavePad for further editing. >>> That step you handle in Audacity, Preferences, Quality. "CD" quality is 44.1 KHz, 16 bit, stereo, sometimes abbreviated 44.1/16/2. Video does better. Their sample rate is 48 KHz with 16 bits and...

<<<input selector only works for specific drivers>>>
<<<I wish the meter would expand in those cases>>>

This is me writing that down.
