Re: Clicks created at each edit point

<<<I'd love to share you a section >>> And we're dying to hear it. Not actually expiring or anything, but you know.... So a little leg work on your part. You need to find one of the thousands of free hosting sites and put something up there where we can all see/hear it. I'd be delighted to rip it ap...

Re: Sudden low bitrate recording

<<<when I record the audio>>>

What audio might that be? Are you recording a live musical performance?

Re: Audio won't play

<<<(Apple-F) for the word aliasfile.>>>

Or whatever search is in Windows Land. Open the file in Notepad instead of TextEdit, etc.

It's a relatively straightforward XML file full of conditions and edit instructions.

Re: Audacity mp3s won't play in Media Player or iTunes

Turns out OS-X supports od and hexdump.

I get lines of "03" 243 thousand times. Not 13.

03 is ETX, End Of Text. 13 in hex is, what, DC3, Device Control? Am I trying to over analyze a completely destroyed file?

Re: Puzzled by filename.aup.bak

<<<I had no idea the structure was so complex.>>> And this is a simple editor, "simple" in the sense of uncomplicated elegance, not "stupid." Just to bring this down a little, though, the .aup file appears to be in standard XML information language. I'm not a programmer even for ...

Re: "Zero Crossing Point" - from Koz - ??

A bonus, bonus is that I rough-cut edit three hour-long radio shows every week. I don't pay the slightest attention to the zero crossings and I don't get pops. So it's my clever way to avoid addressing the original problem.

Yours in obscurity.

<<<a Hex Editor>>> Such as...? <<<That's the data equivalent of painting over the Sistine Chapel with one big sheet of pale blue.>>> If they're all "13"s, then there's no music structure either. Wouldn't that be like giving the church a clear coat with Gym Finish®? Koz

<<<the original Audacity project was created by importing from a WAV file of the same name??>>> I'm having to read that several times. The project name will default to the name of the single sound file that you imported. I don't know what would happen if you imported and are editing with more than o...

Re: Audacity mp3s won't play in Media Player or iTunes

Did you do, or let Windows do a Windows Media Player upgrade somewhere in there? One of the reasons I stopped using Windows for music was Media Player started telling me what I could and could not do with my MP3s. It damaged some of them and that's when I told Windows it could just go eat dirt. Unco...

Re: Audacity mp3s won't play in Media Player or iTunes

I couldn't play it on anything. All the players I tried complained about corruption of one sort or another. An older Windows Media Player probably hit it. "The file you are attempting to play has an extension that does not match the file format. Playing the file may result in unexpected behavio...
