Re: Importing audio from DVD file

I don't think Audacity will open up a Transport Stream (.ts), a Video Object (.vob) or an MPEG 2 file of any sort, multiplexed or not. I think the only option short of using a translation software package (StreamClip or DVDxDV on the Mac, DVD Ripper for the PC) is to play the file and use live audio...

<<<I have now successfully transferred them using another usb stick.>>>

Then you win, but it's still extraordinarily hard to believe a bad USB stick created that kind of damage.

Re: Audacity Tripping Out !?!?

Oh, good. We're in my world again. Working with Windows machines makes me itch. Go into Apple, System Preferences, Sound and make sure your Sound Device is selected as an input. Play the device. The panel bouncing balls should respond to the sound. Just to cover it, select the internal microphone an...

Re: Sudden low bitrate recording

tatsujins Wikipedia has no idea what that is, so I'll assume it's an audio track and you're getting the material by playing games on your PS-2. <<<And it's not the PS2 causing this problem, or the line-in port or anything related to the PS2.>>> That's my job if you don't mind. We established the pro...

Re: Audacity mp3s won't play in Media Player or iTunes

It's pretty safe that this isn't a slightly damaged file from having traveled through a USB Stick. Two different people on two different computers have taken the file apart at the byte structure level and confirmed that it's just not a sound file. Never was. There is something magic in the music cre...

Re: Overwriting WAVs

I can think of two reasons. When you edit a WAV file, the sound only exists on the original file. That's why you can't disconnect your portable capture disk drive until you finish editing and export the final show--and hope to goodness you do it with a different filename. Not so with MP3s. When you ...

Re: Lost AUDACITY data file

1. After capturing one side of a record, I would immediately Export as WAV... . BGoodmanHelsinkiSide1.wav. That represents your live capture master. Make copies of that, clicks, pops and all onto a second drive. Any valuable work should exist on two different spinning platters. It could be a second ...

Re: Overwriting WAVs

<<<Audacity will overwrite it.>>> OK, stop right there. There is no classic "Save" command that can damage original or master files by accident--probably why they left it out. Your choices are Export as WAV... , Export as MP3... , or Save Project. I don't understand where the problem is--o...

Re: Sudden low bitrate recording

<<<It's not low-quality audio I'm recording, I can assure you that. >>>

I'm perfectly assured that it's very high quality work. Now answer the question please.
