Re: Track Editing
Am I going to like this song/movie/book/vacation spot? Audacity is a reasonably good editing program with good tools. That said, the "real program" is stuck between the stable version with plain tools and the Greatly Advanced 1.3 which technically is still in Beta. The final version will b...

Re: Lost AUDACITY data file
One other idea. You will get better at this as you go, particularly at cleaning and de-popping--or you may find a new software program that does a much better job than your old one. You may also find that by the third or fourth album, you're much better at it and you can't stand to listen to the ear...

Re: Lost AUDACITY data file
,,,what about the original unedited Exported WAV file? Should I replace it with the NEW EDITED file. Otherwise I will have tons of files.Original unedited files and the NEW edited masters.???? >>> Well, yes, but maybe not as many as you think. Take GMiller_Side1.wav. You can clean that one up, de-cl...

Re: Mic recording too quiet.
Here it is. If you open the sound control panel--the one with all the sliders, and elect Options, Properties, Recording that will open up the panel that Windows is actually using to control recorded sound--not the playback panel. The Playback panel may have a microphone listed on it, but that settin...

Re: Sudden low bitrate recording
<<<the only two things left are the cable and the soundcard>>> And since the last recording was done without an external cable, we keep coming back to the sound card--which in your case is the motherboard. I have two different sound programs for the PC and I can locate problems pretty quickly betwee...

Re: Can't get audio output through Digi 001
Over in PC land, they always urge everyone to download the latest device drivers. That's the only thing I can think of to do.

Getting the correct Lame download is a big deal. Make sure the processor and operating system match exactly.

<<<set the project rate to 44 100 Hz >>> I don't have any trouble creating MP3s from a 48/16/2 file. There's something else wrong. If you hard drive filling up? One more. <<<You can't blame YouTube since Audacity records the exact quality of any audio that is being played while the program is recording. The MP3 I hosted on SendSpace is just a small sample of what I recorded while watching my video.>>> I'm not perfect clear. Where did the MP3 come from again...

Re: Sudden low bitrate recording
[stunned silence] You got a good one there. Who made the sound card inside the PC and is there a special effects software package associated with it? For example, I have a large if old SoundBlaster card and it comes with "AEX Sound Simulation" as well as its own complex setup panels. Each ...
