Re: Want to make older music sound better..what should I do?
OK. Never mind. I got it. _BernardHerrmannAfter.wav is the whole piece with the corrections. before_after.wav is a brief chunk that shows what happens when I take the corrections out in the middle of a note. http://www.kozco.com/audacity The files will settle down in about fifteen minutes from 8:30 ...

Re: Want to make older music sound better..what should I do?
Excellent. I'm going to mess with this, but I forgot to warn you about one little detail. I would kill to have some blank track with all the hiss and hum and no fiddles--even for a second or so. Does that fit almost exactly over a 3 min song/set?
Is it a little off? What happens if you try -0.918? Go ahead. Ask me where I got that number from.

Re: Can't play MP3 in all versions Of Windows Media Player
I'm going with Windows Media Player is arbitrarily deciding to "protect" your MP3 file from evil. "Evil" being defined as you playing it. Is it always the first WMP you played the MP3 track in and does it happen after about the third or fourth play? In other words WMP is register...

Re: STEREO TRACK PROBLEM!
Here it is.
Click on the little black down arrow to the left of the track. Split Stereo Track. Select, copy and paste. Then Make Stereo Track to put it back together.

Re: STEREO TRACK PROBLEM!
This one's rougher than you would think because Audacity will not let you select one side of a stereo track. I know "converting" from Mono to Stereo is worth going for a Starbucks and Krispy Kreme. It's not easy. I'm assuming you already tried the pan control and it didn't do what you thou...

Re: The chipmonk effect
Speed problems almost always happen when the sound file characteristics and Audacity don't get along. Usually, it happens right away and not wait like yours did. Set Audacity for 44.1 KHz 16 bit stereo in the preferences panel. Open each sound clip one at a time and export it as a Windows WAV file. ...
