Re: Error msg when trying to use...

I have a PC whose "natural" USB connections work when they feel like it. It took me forever trying to figure that out. I gently bumped the connection once behind the machine while I was doing something else and the machine went nuts. I solved it by adding a little third party card that had...

Re: mixer help

<<<not through an outside mic.>>> I don't thnik you have any choice. Very few Windows XP machines came with internal microphones like the Macs have. If you want to record live voice, you're going to have to buy, borrow, or somehow get a microphone connected to your sound card--or it's possible to bu...

Re: How to remove annoying monotone sound?

If you're already registered over at the Final Cut forum, you should introduce yourself and say what you're trying to do. And where you are. You should say hello to Jude. She's one of the top technicians in the world. I brought up your problem as related to Sound Track Pro which is an audio componen...

Re: How to remove annoying monotone sound?

So to bring the whole thing around full circle, one of the video posters (the on in Australia) threw up her hands and suggested that you take it to an Audio Professional.

So we're back to square one.

Re: lost audio

See next question up from yours. Same problem. I'm betting you deleted a capture or original file by accident. Let us know.

Re: Silence

It doesn't recalculate the picture every time. The picture is carried by a separate file, so they can get out of sync. Did you mess with "projects?" Save as violin.aup? Something like that. Did you then go into the violin_data file and move things around? Worse yet, did you delete your ori...

Re: How to remove annoying monotone sound?

I just got back.

Yes, I see the problem is still alive.

They're asking for the uncompressed version. I'll post that. Just to cover it, you exported that .wav file from the capture timeline, right, no steps in the middle? No going to MP3 and coming back?

Re: How to remove annoying monotone sound?

I had people listen to the posting and declare that the video tools should clean this up with no trouble. Ours didn't. And nobody has returned with a clean track yet, either. I know where I heard this before. I thought it sounded vaguely familiar. I know it's coming from multiple motor noises and fa...

Re: How to remove annoying monotone sound?

<<<passed away>>> That's what I was afraid of. No reshoot possible. <<<You think some professional company could 'clean' this recording? Or do they use the same techniques and would the result be the same barrel-sound?>>> It's possible although I don't have any phone numbers. I can ask on the other ...

Re: How to remove annoying monotone sound?

<<<I used an external microphone, and i don't have the problem there>>> We warn people not to use the built-in microphone on anything if you can avoid it. The video people are always posting on another forum about bad sound. They always shoot their first show with the little microphone on top of the...
