<<<i dont know if i understand what you are asking.>>>
Let me try different. Is your intention for one person to record all the different parts of a single, multi-instrument show, or just record a bunch of different songs one right after the other?

Re: i want the back ground music but not the person singing.
It's all based on the Center Pan Remover tool. It's about 2/3 of the way down this pile. http://audacityteam.org/download/nyquistplugins I think it's a Nyquist Plugin but you may also need the VST Enabler tool: http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=install&i=vst-enabler You need that to get some of...

Re: Nebie Having Trouble
The signal flow can be broken up into steps. Yes, connect your CD player (RCA connections) to the Line In connection of your sound card (1/8" single plug). If you have a portable PC, then it's more difficult. Install, set up, and run Audacity. You should get red bouncing lights in Audacity when...

Re: another format?
<<<What I want is 9 hours straight, but a MP3 format will not allow anything close to that to be recorded on a CD.>>> Oh, yes it will. The problem, as pointed out, is that then you won't have a standard Music CD. If you want to put an MP3 music file onto a Data CD, you can get hours and hours of sho...

Re: It cant access my sound device...
You should set up the record device in the operating system rather than depend on Audacity. I can get a lot more specific if you told me what kind of computer you had.

Re: Recording problems at 40seconds in second track.
<<<when recording starts, kill the monitor. >>> Excellent. I know you've been typing for hours, but you missed a step--or you briefly glanced off it in passing (so to speak). Given that sentence at the top, how is the artist playing to track 1? I play solo instrument ("so low" nobody can h...

Re: Need help recording from my mixer
<<<i know i dont need the yellow plug since its for video.>>> Oh, it's worse than that. The extra connections on the plug could be causing a lot of your problems. This is what's supposed to be there. That's where the card is expecting your signals to be. http://kozco.com/audacity/LRShield.jpg Note t...

Re: Need help recording from my mixer
<<<it wasnt working earlier.>>> You can help that with rubbing alcohol and paper towels. Rub the 1/8" end of the cable with an alcohol wet towel and then dry it off with a second paper towel. It should connect every time you plug it in. <<I feel like sometimes this program is playing tricks on ...
Re: LameLib
I'm using a 6-month old Intel Mac Mini. It's my VCR among other things. If you're compiling anything you're doing it wrong. Stop that. Download the zip file. [Open With] and BOMArchiveHelper.app will be one of the options. That will produce the new folder that has a fully-formed library file all rea...

Re: Need help recording from my mixer
Probably the blue one. It's the fan icon with the arrow point in. They changed the colors a while ago and I don't know any more. The picture from Amazon.com isn't detailed enough for me to get it from that. The sound shouldn't be distorted at all. I shot the whole sound track for a short using a mix...
