s'OK. I do that all the time.
You have the wrong Lame file. You have a Power PC machine, but you're using the same lame file that I used on my Intel machine.
You want the Stuffit (.sit) file at the bottom of this collection.

Re: Need help recording from my mixer
Move before the house burns down. Normal house wiring shouldn't do that. If your dimmers are getting into the audio, then you have a ground wire loose or broken inside the wall--or at one of the outlets. It's possible if the house is old enough, you may not even have ground wires. My original house ...

Re: Output monitor - clipping indicators
Something is wrong. Sound that does not clip should not drop off the map in your headphones. Can you hear the sound in all the CDs you own? If you have some old ones in there, they were recorded with the -17 audio standard. If they play OK, then you're doing something else weird with your live work....

Re: lamelib issue...cannot export as mp3
The gray thing happens when you got the wrong version of something. Are you sure you're on an Intel Mac? What does the panel say when you click Apple, About This Mac? Power PC G5? Are you sure you got the right Audacity for the version of Operating System and machine you have? I do have an Intel Mac...

Re: Power Outage Problem
Maybe.
Write back if you find one and we'll post it here. Once every six months or so someone has the same problem--not often enough to write code or a patch for it as far as I know. Several other audio programs have the same problem. I can see the files right there, why can't I rescue them?

Re: Can't Download AIFF from CD
<<<I have no idea what ACC means>>> Welcome to the crash course in how to run your computer. If you weren't an expert before..... AAC is Apple's advanced sound compression technology. It's better than MP3, but only Apple uses it--chiefly in iTunes. So the other tracks all worked, just not the one yo...

Are you totally sure [/b] you're on an Intel Mac and you have the right Audacity and Lame libraries? This is precisely what happens when you get one of those items wrong. What does it say when you click Apple, About This Mac? Power PC G5, or Power PC G4? Are you the administrator on your machine? Ap...

Re: Power Outage Problem
If there are capture files left over or orphaned, Audacity will volunteer to try and rescue them when it opens up the very next time. This is the crash recovery mode. If it didn't volunteer to do that, then you're in trouble. ...

Re: Can't Download AIFF from CD
<<<It seems to import from other CDs with no problem.>>> That's a little disturbing right there. I don't think that's supposed to work. Anyway, two thoughts. Can you play the CD in more than one CD player? Is the bottom all scratched and greasy/dirty? Do you know how to clean CDs? Don't try it unles...

Re: Installing the sound device for recording
You can split the sound from a multiplexed mpeg2 DVD file with MPEG Streamclip free from the Apple web site.
