Re: Audacity won't remain on desktop after use
<<<the Audacity alias in the folder, not the application.>>> So that's why it vanishes when you close the machine or delete the original mounted drive. I get the real thing instead of an alias when I do it. That's highly unusual. I just know if I was standing behind you while you were pressing button...

Many times I can't set the noise reduction control correctly at all and I have to do noise reduction in another application. My joke is t...

Re: Audacity won't remain on desktop after use
Let's review the steps. You download Audacity, say 1.2.4 or maybe 1.2.6. It arrives as an Image File. Somethingsomething.dmg You click on the image file (maybe double click, I forget) and it unfolds itself into a Mounted Disk Drive. This looks like a little hardware disk drive on your desktop. Click...

Re: Can't record from tape
The headphone output of the tape machine should be plugged into the 'Line In" of the sound card.
Select Line In for your Audacity signal source and it should start working.

Re: Can I trust Audacity's Noise & Click Removal?
Noise Removal takes care of the low background noise and Click and Pop removes really loud sounds--sounds much louder than the music. I would get rid of the clicks first and then apply Noise Removal for the groove noise that's left. Click removal uses the overall personality of the sound to figure o...

Re: Audacity keeps crashing out
They warn you that third party plugins may cause trouble. Take the plugin--all third party plugins--out and see what happens.

Re: Exporting MP3's files.
When the export asked you to select the ID3 tag, did you pick "More Compatible" or leave it "More Flexible?"
