As a practical matter, probably not.

By the way, at least the first two data (au) files are pictures, not audio.

Audacity (the stable version) will not export AIFF. However .WAV files will drop right into iTunes. Depending on preferences, iTunes is going to beat up the file pretty badly anyway, so as a practical matter, it doesn't have to be perfect. You have two contradicting symptoms. Tinny vinyl usually means that you're recording the straight sound from the record and not the sound run through a Phono Preamp which straightens that problem out (the famous RIAA equlization curve).
