Re: Export Problem

It does that as a housekeeping function during both capture and editing. You shouldn't need to delete them. Once you create your final WAV file and close audacity for the last time, they should be erased in the auto-housekeeping step right before closing. It's possible the Very Special Place on your...

Re: Recording from YouTube (newbie here!)

The Wiki for Audacity is way too hard to find....

If you get tired of messing with that. I use WireTap Pro for the Mac and Total Recorder for the PC.

Re: LameLib

<<<I also do not have BOMArchiveHelper.app on my new computer>>> Bill Of Materials Archive Helper should be included in every operating system from 10.3.0 on. If it's not, then we're in trouble because Stuffit Expander will not open up all ZIP type files--this one in particular. It tries, but it pro...

Re: Disable voice-activated recording?

<<<Wiretap Pro 1.2.0.>>>

Here's another idea. WireTap Pro will record from anything. Run WireTap and try to record from your iMic.

<<<QuickTime Player 7.2>>>

QuickTime Pro?

QuickTime Pro will record from the Mac sound services and can be used as a testing tool. Regular QuickTime will not.

Re: Recording streaming audio

The older Macs especially wouldn't do that.

We're stuck with this:

Wiki Pointer

Can we please figure out a way to point to the Wiki pages from the forum pages. I know the Wiki is up there and I can't find it. Search can't find it, either.

Re: How to get rid of the HUM?

In a sense they were both right. You're listening to the interaction between the slightly ratty Mac and the unfiltered microphone. Either by itself might not be objectionable. Can you do the voice on my answering machine? A friend of mine in Hollywood is a talent agent. She didn't think she was doin...

Re: How to get rid of the HUM?

See how easy that was? You have a great voice if that's you in the track. You are listening to the computer doing all its housekeeping. The same thing happens with the iMic on certain machines. That's what happens when you make a USB audio device so cheap that you can't put proper filtering in. The ...

Re: How to get rid of the HUM?

Can you post some of it somewhere we can hear it? There are magic frequencies that point directly to a solution. Try not to compress it (no MP3). Does it change at all if you physically move the microphone during the recording? Did you pick USB #2? Some microphones are sensitive to that. Do you have...
