Re: mp3 export error...need .dll file!!!
Do you have your computer set to show you file extensions? Anyway. --------------------------- # Go to the LAME download page. # Under "For Audacity 1.2.6 and 1.3.3 on Windows", left-click on the link "libmp3lame-win-3.97.zip" and save the zip folder to anywhere on your computer....

Re: Recovering Audacity files
<<<Audacity didn't ask me about the files - is the re a setting that will set the system up to prompt me?>>> The recovery mode is supposed to be automatic after an Audacity crash. I believe one of the Requested New Features is the ability to force a Recovery event--especially if you know where the s...

Welcome to the confusion that is the Audacity Project. The Audacity project consists of: The .AUP file (no surprise there). The -data file and all its little puppies inside. Every capture file you used to start the show and have recorded since. ---in the right order. So you can probably do this, but...

The toolbar in Audacity should have a little microphone symbol and a slider. Turn the slider down (to the left) until the volume is better.

Re: almost made it work...
Which version of Audacity do you have? There is a story going around that Audacity will export AIFF. Most don't. Does the file play in QuickTime? Press Apple-I (info) while it's running and find out what kind of file it really is. Select the sound file and File, Open With. Choose iTunes In iTunes, F...

Re: Installing Plugs - On Mac

Re: Recovering Audacity files
Let's go with no. If you restarted Audacity and it didn't volunteer to stitch everything back together again, then it's probably hopeless. There was one posting of someone who got a software package to collect all the temporary capture files into one performance, but we never heard that it actually ...

You can continue to do that, or crank through these instructions and try to dig your way out that way. http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Control_Panel I have enough different Windows installs that I gave up and use WireTap Pro on the Macs and Total Recorder ...
