I don't think we ever established what you're actually doing other than it doesn't work any more.

What are you doing? Analog audio to the sound card and then on to Audacity?

I see from the web site that the M-Audio will supply extremely high quality, multiple stereo tracks. Do you have it set to capture billions of bits per second by accident and the machine is running flat out, full speed until it can't keep up any more? About :30 in to the capture. The L-R slider to the left of the stereo track will push the audio one way or the other and help with this problem. If the show needs overall trimming after you do that, then the + and - slider will do that. The waveform will not change until you export the show with the new settings. You need to tu...

WireTap on the Mac and Total Recorder on the PC. Both have timers so you can record audio events when you're not there.

Without going into the research project, will Simple Synth run on a Mac? If it does, then you can use WireTap Studio to record it and then cut it later in Audacity. Macs don't have that complicated Sound Panel that Windows has which allows you to record a playback. The up side is Mac sound services ...
