Re: Giving a track a wider sound? Help
To get exactly the "out of phase" effect, open your stereo show on the timeline. Split it with black down arrow on the left, Split Stereo Track. Select the upper track and Effect, Invert. Then Arrow on the left, Make Stereo Track. That will produce a 180 phase difference between the left a...

Re: microphone help
<<<they were probably identical.>>> And you don't have to go to extremes to figure it out, either. Just select some of the audio and keep blowing it up (zoom in) until you can see the individual humps and valleys in each wave. They should match. "Stereo" tracks don't. As far as the mono/st...

Re: on taking a track ie. voice back out of a mix...
Before we get all throw-uppy over this, it only works when the rest of the orchestra is in full stereo and not in the center. You can't take a mono track, split it, and delete the singer. The whole orchestration, singer and all, will vanish. <<<inverted and then mixed in with the track that had alre...

Re: Giving a track a wider sound? Help
<<<i hope thats helpful>>> I think I got a pretty good idea what you want. If it didn't start out stereo, this will be an uphill battle, and it may be pretty uphill anyway. You should experiment with dynamic range expanding (not compressing) and fixed phase delay on one side (say left) without affec...

<<<Definitely confused.>>>
I can make it worse (he said brightly).
At least the first two files, and possibly more, aren't sound files. They're graphic files and they draw the blue waveforms on the screen.

And don't touch them, either. The natural oils on your skin are slightly acidic and will corrode electrical contacts.
