Re: distortion with voice recording
OK. Strikes one through four and Via AC97 won't Google. Get a cup of coffee, this may take a while. Describe your machine. Deskside or laptop? Look in the back and see if you have LINE-IN and MIC-IN connectors to plug things into (usually blue and pink, but not always). Does your machine have a ratt...

<<<I made no changes to computer>>>
The computer may have made its own changes. Do you have your machine set for Automatic Windows Update? Do you have always-on high speed internet? When was the last time you updated your virus profiles and did a complete system scan?

Re: Recording old Cassette tapes...cleaning up sound quality

Then select the music and apply the correction. The program tries to remove the stuff from your first click from the stuff in your second. I...

Re: Records only 1 trac
<<<when i go to burn it it only records the first song of 10 >>> You missed a couple of nouns in there. "When I go to burn the song collection, Windows Media 11 only records the first song of 10." Did I get that right? Audacity is not a burner. Did you get any error messages? Koz

Re: aup.bak=error message. Why?
Is this something you can work around by exporting a WAV file instead of trying to save the project? I don't know how Audacity produces that backup file, but what happens if you opened up the original AUP file instead of the backup? Do you have the fuzzy concept of XML project files and edit clips, ...
