Re: Please, please help!!
No. Not yet. I'll tell you when to heave it. You have three wires coming out of the turntable, right? The red and white ones and one thin black cable with a metal fork on the end, yes? You didn't think I was going to know about the third wire, did you? You are missing one piece. NO! Put it down. We'...

Re: Static on PLayback #02
Please don't double post.
Now it's a pain in the butt. I'm going to have to go back over all the forum questions to remember what the original question was.
I'm not going.
What was the original question?

Re: Playback sounds muted
What happened when you played the download? It's really important to play the Left-Right piece on your system and you might download the piano trill, too. It's also good to know that the phase piece and the 6 second piano piece were perfectly recorded. So if both of them play with no hash, cracking,...

Re: Bleeding Over
I'm more than even convinced that you have your Windows sound panel set wrong. There is a whoule Wiki on that: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues Windows will cheerfully record, play, and feed back on all its sound channels at the same time. Controlling that is an inte...

Re: Newbie - How to Get to Specific Time in Track
<<<can't seem to find direction on how to move to a specific time in a track.>>> That's because I don't believe there is one. You can't type 1:23:00 [Enter} and have it move immediately to one minute and twenty-three seconds. I think the best you can do is zoom out as far as you can and use the curs...

Re: distortion with voice recording
<<<"b00000.au".>>> Right away we're in trouble. Those aren't sound files. Those are Audacity project segments and the first one or two of them in the /data folder aren't even sound. They're pictures. Don't worry about it. This burns everybody. So, back to your timeline, export a WAV or MP3...

Re: Playback sounds muted
It makes perfect sense. Download and play the "Left-Right" clip from here: http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html ...and play it through your headphones first and then through your speakers. I bet the last segment will sound like a space alien in your headphones, but the next to the las...

Re: Playback sounds muted
Ignoring what it sounds like for a minute, when you play back the performance, do the green bouncing lights in the playback sound meter work and look like the red ones did when you recorded? This is the playback immediately after you recorded a show, right? Not saved and come back in three days. Are...

Re: Fails to run. "Where is the waves plug-in folder?"
You're installing on a PowerPC, right? Not an Intel? Do you still have the mounted disk you got when you uncompressed the Audacity program? You may want to get another one. You have a scrambled install. Create a fresh clean folder called Audacity and move it to your /Applications folder. When you un...
