Re: Please, please help!!

<<<don't have the pre-amp needed for turntables. >>> No. That's getting hard to find now. Really early on, they discovered that the bass notes wouldn't fit in the groove. I mean big time. By the time they reduced the volume of the performance so everything fit, the fiddles in the south forty were lo...

Re: Recording in a lower key

You in particular should have posted in one of the three platform specific trouble forums. The first thing we're going to do now is start asking you which Audacity you have, which machine you have and which operating system, etc., etc., etc. Live performance in front of a microphone? Which microphon...

<<<I think there should be a formal section of the forum devoted to bug reports >>> I'm 100% sure you can't do that. "I can't get LameLib to work, this is a bug, right?" If you can't keep trouble postings out of the forum forum, there's no hope for a bug forum. No, it has to be an insider ...

Re: Bleeding Over

It's nice that you have a new sound card, but your Windows Sound Control Panel is still set wrong. The setting for track two is to record your live performance plus the playback from track one. The only reason you don't get this problem with track one is that there isn't anything before that. If you...

Re: Nebie Having Trouble

<<<final CD would start from the beginning when I cut off the car and restart it>>> Automotive CD players don't do that. They sit right there and wait for you to come back from the store whether the car is running or not. My car CD player failed and I'm forced to use a portable CD player and one of ...

Re: Using Audacity to equalize tracks prior to burning

The older CDs were recorded with the Red Book -17 dB standard sound level. The New! and Improved! CDs are recorded as loud as possible without distorting. Sometimes with distorting. Select one song and Effect, Normalize. I use -3 and push everything to that. You can't batch process this as far as I ...

Re: Static on PLayback #02

<<<how do I stop it?>>> You may not stop it with that machine. You have the high power motors of the disk drives and head actuators getting into your sound. My guess is that the power supply for the machine--the thing in the back with the big fan in it--isn't quite up to the job. You have "dirt...

Re: Please, please help!!

Or poke yourself repeatedly with a sharp stick. We are avoiding upgrading until we can see some benefit without having software packages stop working. But all seriousness aside, Have you ever found a way to file an actual program bug? I wonder if the programmers even know about the Leopard thing. I ...
