Re: distortion with voice recording

<<<By 'radio base station' do you mean radio, as in 'radio'? >>>

I mean radio as in Wireless Headset. Remember this?

<<<I'm using an Emkay headset>>>

Emkay makes wireless headsets. How about you find the exact model number of your headset?

Re: Recording in a lower key

<<<Peavey Amp into the computer>>> That's the part we need detail on. The Peavey has a "Tape Out" or something like that? You're plugged into the "Line In" of the Dell, right? Short cable across the floor? So you're using the Peavey as a mixer. Cool. I wish more people did it tha...

Re: Those dinky meters

<<<The present ones are worthless!>>> Maybe not worthless. Awkward to use, perhaps. The lower right corner is your friend. If you pull the lower right corner of the Audacity operating window bigger and bigger, the meters will follow you. I believe it will stay that way time after time, too. If that'...

Re: recording speeds up?

That's one to stump the band isn't it? Let's go for the wacko gold. Your voice is fine. The music track is slowing down and acting oddly. Where did the music bed come from? Is it a normal WAV file 44100/16/2? I bet not. I bet it's one of the music file types that Audacity doesn't know very well. Aud...

Re: distortion with voice recording

Is this posted somewhere else in addition to here? I swear I posted a reply. I don't see it. But I do see a signpost up ahead.... I hear a radio microphone being interfered with by--probably--your computer. How far apart can you get the audio base station and the computer? Across the room is good. I...

Re: Blue Screen! Help!

Audacity will crash--or blue screen if it encounters an audio device it doesn't understand. The usual wisdom is to update your device drivers and hope to goodness that fixes it. If you're on Audacity 1.2.x, you might consider trying 1.3.x. Sometimes, the more advanced package will work where the ear...

Re: Problems with 2nd recording range

<<<but the bad news is that the blue waves are denser than the first recording's along with louder and more distorted voice.>>> You are recording the entire first track--again--plus your live voice. Third time through, it's your voice plus everything that came before. It would be getting denser and ...

Re: When MP3 files opened they last .35 seconds

Open Audacity and record a minute stereo track of flat line. Talk into a microphone if you have one, but it's not necessary. Any audio including none is good.

Export that as an MP3 and then open that and play it. Does it go past 0.35 seconds?

Re: Bleeding Over

<<<I know this sounds premative but it works. >>> Primitive is good. One of the test audio tracks on my web site is me talking on the left and then the right. http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html I get comments all the time from people who have reversed their speakers by accident. Re: Please, please help!!

Let me know when you've heard it. I should probably take it down because of the other functions the RIAA has.
