Re: problem recording from tape player
<<<I found the correct cable and was able to get it to working using the mic port on my Creative Labs sound card and 1.3.6(Beta) version.>>> So we're done, right? Audacity isn't broken and you have a bad Dell analog to digital converter in their sound device. I bet it works with the Creative and ver...

Re: Recording through iTunes?
Macs can't redirect the audio pathways like Windows can.
This was beat up a little earlier. You have a version of this problem. I use WireTap.

Re: problem recording from tape player
Windows? Which Audacity?
We assume you're using the Line In of the sound card. What happens if you plug a microphone into the Mic In of the same card and record a bit of that?
If you play a song from a CD and then walk out and play the same song in your car, is the pitch the same?

Re: How do i make it so there is no pause between tracks?
The Red Book standard for Audio Compact Disks call for an automatic 2 second pause between songs or cuts. Your burner or audio authoring software puts that in usually whether you want it there or not. The higher end authoring programs include a check box and a data window where you can produce whate...

Re: USB Audio interface
Does it show up in Windows Sound Recorder or the Windows Sound Control Panels? Audacity is a complete slave to Windows services. It doesn't do anything by itself. You have restarted everything, right? Audacity only updates all its setting on restart, but sometimes restarting the whole machine works ...

Re: Recording in a lower key
This is high on the "Stump The Band" meter, but I do have an idea. Cross the two systems. Record something short on one system and export as a WAV file and play it on the other. Then reverse it. See which one is off pitch. One more thing, if you have it, try recording on the Windows Sound ...

Re: Those dinky meters
<<<Usage of the tiny meters is more or less awkward>>>
In addition to they're not being VU meters. They're sampled digital peak meters, so a certain amount of adaptation is necessary.

Re: Using Audacity with USB Audio Input
In reverse order. Audacity won't burn anything. I think Windows Media will produce an audio CD. Export each song as a WAV file and dump into Windows Media (Audacity "Save" will not give you a sound file). <<<it has got the facility to 'de-click' vinyl recordings>>> Yes, but no software can...
