Re: Audacity 2.3.3 on iMac 2015 recording speeded up
You can get speed changes if what you think it an MP3 file is really some other format such as M4a. Right-Click the file > Get INFO. Your Mac will tell you the format and other information. You can get speed changes if the sampling rates get scrambled. That's the 44100 or 48000 number. Sometimes if ...

I can't find anything with a direct link on the ACX website. I think it's at the end of that survey. They don't let you just dump a sound file on them and go home. This is a posting from someone who submitted to ACX and then related the experience. https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=349...

Re: How do I interpret these graphs - noise floor and with rolloff
As DVDDoug above, you have to hit two specifications, not just one. ACX Check is our best guess at ACX's Automated Robot. Peak, Loudness and Noise are straightforward. ACX Check is a condensed collection of already existing Audacity tools that were long, complicated and boring to use. If you make it...

While acoustically that may be a wonderful idea, I'm sure the laptop ventilation and cooling system is not going to think so. We are admonished to never interfere with computer cooling.under a blanket.
As we go.

Re: Vinyl to MP3 Conversion...No Bass
That caught my eye on the first read. Sound on a vinyl record doesn't have any bass. It doesn't fit, so the record burning system backs it down and it depends on the Phono Preamp to boost it back up. No bass is a very common complaint from someone who got their phono preamp wrong (or missing). But t...

Re: How do I interpret these graphs - noise floor and with rolloff
Yeti's do that. They produce "rumble" (tones to the left of 100Hz) that aren't really there in real life. The 100Hz Rolloff For Speech filter gently drops the tones to the left of 100Hz. That's earthquakes, thunder and very large trucks driving by shaking the house. One more: Flute Stop pe...

Re: Vinyl to MP3 Conversion...No Bass
Puzzled looks all around. That's an odd place for it to be dying. I have an AudioTechnica LP60, I have it set to Mono There's two. AT-LB60XBT and AT-LP60USB. Why set it to mono? In Audacity do you get one wiggly blue timeline or two? Screen Shot 2020-02-21 at 07.21.09.png I convert the files to MP3,...

Re: Learning beginning mixing/equalization?
(without careful listening) And that brings us to: How are you listening? Good quality speakers or headphones are handy. The object is to catch errors before anybody else can hear them. Hollywood loves the Sony MDR7506 headphones. They're not that good to settle in and watch a movie, but they will ...

You found the _data folder? We're much more interested in how you lost it in the first place and where it was. Remember this is a forum. Users helping each other. The AUP file and the_DATA folder have to be in the same place or folder for a show to open. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMu...

Modern, polished wooden floor, minimalist rooms are a sound horror.

Looks stunning, doesn't it? It would be nearly impossible to make a good sound recording in that room.
