Re: Recordings are clipping. Any ideas?

Well we got really close there. I tried to open an FTP service for you to post your sound sample and discovered I couldn't do it. The web site people changed the software on me and I nave a trouble ticket posted. Did you like, tick off the gods or something? When you play your file and it starts act...

Re: Seaker Balance Problem

We should probably change direction here a little bit. Pull down the "Left-Right" test track from here: http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html And play it on your system. It's a plain Windows WAV file and should play anywhere. This is good when you start having basic machine problems. P...

Re: So far, So good

Thanks, although I didn't have anything to do with it.

Have you hit the Save/Export problem yet?

Re: Not sure what's going on with my recordings

Let's assume you're making the same mistake everybody else makes. "Save" in Audacity will not give you a stand-alone sound file that you can email to your mom. It's more of an internal production tool. You probably want Export As WAV... or Export As MP3... Both of those will give you an ac...

Re: Seaker Balance Problem

<<<Now my Right speaker has a lower volume than the Left one and cannot seem to fix>>> Missing one sentence. "No matter what I play whether Audacity is open or not." If you play something in Windows Media or play a commercial from the internet, is it still off balance? Koz

Re: Can a label for a track be moved?

Labels aren't as handy as you think. They're not edit points. They're just little pieces of sticky tape you put on the screen to tell you where you are, help align multiple audio tracks, and export a single timeline into multiple songs. http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Splitting_recordin...

Re: Simple MP3 recording

<<<(not sure how it copes with DRM though)>>> Apple's Copy Protection is really well thought out and in a vast majority of cases, doesn't get in the way, even if you try some really odd things. Even if you break it, there are provisions to rescue you. But try to copy that music to more than, I think...

Re: Which version to download?

I'm not sure how this happened, but 1.2.6 will download and install--and run, but you can't add plugins or the MP3 software to it. I'm sure some programmer stayed up nights to make the package cross compatible, but all it did was create quite a few confused postings on the forum. I even had an actua...

Re: Changing voice to a different voice? help!

<<<#2 doesn't exist>>> No, but I can think of ways of doing it. The tools are certainly there. Given that you have the voice track by itself, apply a nice FFT with the ability to manipulate the Fourier elements independently from each other. They have equipment that can take a bad answering machine ...
